My interest and passion for travel, wildlife, conservation of fauna & flora and photography has given me insight in the management of eco friendly hospitality. I was a partner of Yala Wild Hut, and also managed a luxury camp just outside Wilpattu.
Being a past Committee Member, Mentor to the Youth Wing and Secretary of the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society and past Trustee for Federation of Environmental Organizations has given me insight into the needs of conservation that our motherland needs and educating our youth to respect and protect our fauna and flora in the creation of an environment that provides a unique experience in terms of its setting and appreciation of the outdoor life amidst nature. I was also very fortunate to work with late Dr Ravi Samarasinghe on a project to protect leopard outside national parks by introducing cages for cattle that were been attacked by leopards and been killed by the cattle herders, which to-date proves to be one of the most successful projects in saving leopards.
My love and passion in wildlife/nature,travel and fashion/ commercial photography for over twenty-five years, has led me to the organisation and leading of photography tours and guiding groups of wildlife enthusiasts across the country giving them an ‘off the beaten track’ experience.
In 2006 I was the runner-up for Wildlife photographer of the year in Sri Lanka. My photographs have appeared in various magazines and have been used within the garment industry as well.
I have been a part of the garment industry for over thirty years and I spent my final fourteen years with the MAS group of companies before leaving the corporate world to pursue my own apparel business and interest in wildlife conservation and the outdoor hospitality trade.
